Best Beginner Dirt Bikes For Teens

12 May 2021 06:38

With so many dirt bikes available here at FunBikes, they all come in different shapes and sizes.

Some are for small children, others are for adults.

But if you’ve never come to our website before, it can be difficult to know which is the product you’re after and which suits your age and size.

In this week's article, we’ll take a look at the 3 best beginner dirt bikes for teens.

M2R RF125

Made 2 Race have designed a beautiful dirt bike that is perfect for teens who are brand new to the world of dirt bikes and who are eager to get started.

The RF125 has so many features that beginners will love and pros will respect.

Hydraulic racing front forks allow for a great feel and comfortable ride, keeping the front wheel planted where it’s needed, giving the rider ultimate control and versatility when riding.

The gripper seat gives the riding comfort and stability when riding, knowing that they won’t be slipping around the seat, making it easier for beginners to find their balance and feel of the bike.

Finally, the 125cc 4 stroke engine has great performance for amateurs but has still enough power for even the expert riders.

10TEN 125R

Pretty much the same as the M2R 125, but with a spin!

The 10TEN 125R is one of the best bikes for teens to learn how to ride on. And even kids can ride this bike to get a feel for what riding a real dirt bike is like!

With similar features to the M2R 125, we’re going to look at some other features the 10TEN 125R dirt bike has to offer.

Such as the aggressive off-road MX tyres which are durable and rugged enough to withstand any terrain. This is also important for riders who are just starting out. As we would suggest riding on grass or dunes so that in any event of an accident, the ground will help break the fall as opposed to tarmac or gravel.

The twistgrip throttle and 50+ mph top speed is more than enough for riders who are just starting out and even more than enough for when you become a dirt bike riding expert!

10TEN 140R

Finally, the 10TEN 140R is a bike that is more intermediate level, given the 140cc engine size.

But nevertheless, if you’re just starting out, but have a real passion for all things motorbikes and dirt bikes, then the 10TEN 140R might just be for you!

This is a dirt bike that will last you forever if you look after it correctly and treat the bike with respect.

Features include an oil-cooled 140cc 4 stroke engine that has so much power it can reach speeds of up to 50 mph and more (depending on riders height and weight).

Similar to the MXR RF125 and the 10TEN 125, they all bear a lot of the same features.

But the 140R just takes it a little further with a more aggressive engine that is ready and raring to go!

3 Reasons The Ranger Mini Quad Bike Is Awesome!

27 Apr 2021 10:21

The Ranger Mini Quad Bike is one of the most popular quad bikes we have in stock.

Along with the Roughrider and the Toxic, the Ranger proves to be popular with our customer base and it’s easy to see why!

In this article, we’ll take a look at 3 of the main features the Ranger Mini Quad Bike has to offer.

Petrol And Electric Models

For Mums and Dads who are a bit more technical and love to get to grips with the quad bike, buying a petrol version of the Ranger will help establish some bonding time with your children.

Not only that but you can teach your kids about how the bike works and how to fix it if anything were to ever go wrong.

By introducing these basic fundamentals, might help them later in life when they eventually start to learn how to drive a real motorbike or car.

But for parents and kids who want a hands-off experience and just ride and go, the 800w version is just as good as the 50cc petrol version.

Built For Play

Looking at the Ranger Mini Quad Bike, you’ll see that from a design perspective, the farm-style, UTV body is solidly built for durability and fun!

Grass, gravel, concrete and even gentle off-road use, this quad bike will more or less take anything on in its way.

And the strong steel frame has the ability to bear your child’s weight as they grow. So this quad bike could last them throughout their younger years.

Adult Control

Last but not least, the Ranger comes fully equipped with adult control. Featuring a restrictable throttle for speed control.

Furthermore, the kill switch to instantly stop the quad bike in case anything goes wrong, is also available to help keep your children safe.

It’s also worth noting that we always advise parents to wear the appropriate clothing and helmets, as this can help prevent any serious injuries from happening.

Be sure to take a look at our range of bundle offers to save money when bundling up on protective clothing.

Experience The Thrill of Gotrax Scooters

22 Apr 2021 04:30

Here at FunBikes we have a wide range of adult electric scooters. But not all electric scooters were created equally!

The Gotrax adult electric scooter range is one of the most popular scooter brands we have in stock.

Fast, functional, reliable and above all, fun. With so many features across all the models, we wanted to give you a reason to get one to experience the thrill of Gotrax scooters for yourself.

In this article, we’ll be looking at what makes Gotrax so cool and popular.

Functionality

First of all, the functionality of the Gotrax scooter range can’t be overlooked, the XR Ultra, GXLV2 and the G4 are all foldable scooters which makes it easier to carry around town.

Hopping on a bus no problem! Jumping in a taxi, no worries!

And Gotrax understands that scooters are commonly associated with kids, and whilst they do have the Gotrax 25v 150w kids electric scooter, the adult variants are smart, stylish and professional.

They look and feel expensive and are made for resilience and durability.

Power

Depending on which model you get, the power varies.

Going from the low end (which is still very much high-end) 250w Gotrax GXLV2 to the G4 and the XR Ultra boasting a 300w motor. These scooters are for serious riders.

All models (except for the kids electric scooter) can reach speeds of up to 15mph, depending on the rider’s height, weight etc.

So you’re getting a scooter that is fit for purpose, whether that’s cruising around a holiday destination or just a quick trip to the shops. Getting from A-B has never been so easy and fun.

Range

Going back to the functionality, the range on these electric scooters are equally impressive.

For each respective model:

Gotrax GXLV2 - up to 12 miles on a single charge

Gotrax XR Ultra - up to 16 miles on a single charge

Gotrax G4 - up to 21 miles on a single charge

So you can see that you can get a lot of distance out of these scooters.

What we would say is to keep under these limits and remember, if you ride out 21 miles away from home, remember to charge the battery or you might not be able to get back.

Therefore, we’d suggest riding out 10.5 miles one way, so you have plenty of milage left to get back home for another charge!

How To Become An F1 Driver!

08 Apr 2021 12:03

Fast, exciting cars that are loud and race other fast cars…

It’s every child’s dream to become a race car driver, isn’t it?

And whilst it may look exciting on the TV, in real-life, F1 drivers are true athletes with a fighter-pilot mentality.

There is a lot of hard work, focus and determination that goes on behind the scenes that we don’t, as fans, often get to see.

But with the release of Netflix’s Drive To Survive Season 3, we thought it’d be a great time to help Mums and Dads get their children into the sport if they didn’t already know how to do so.

It’s not as easy as it is in this article, but these are some of the most common steps to becoming an F1 driver!

Start Karting

First, you need to buy a go-kart and here at FunBikes, we have you covered. Shop the go-karts range at FunBikes and start by taking your children to some race tracks near you to get a feel of the track and how to drive their go-kart around it.

If they like it and continue to get better and better, maybe think about going up to the next level of competition.

Maybe their friends are doing it, or they already love Formula 1 and want to experience the thrill of a race for themselves.

Take a look online to see if there are any karting competitions near you that you could enter your kids into and see how they go!

Whilst it’s at a significantly smaller scale, karting introduces the basic fundamentals of a racing driver and ignites that flame and passion for the sport. As well as the hunger to win!

Many, if not all, of the greatest F1 drivers, started out Karting from Aryton Senna, Michael Schumacher to Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton. It’s the perfect introduction to the world of racing cars.

Commitment, Dedication, Hard Work

Once you’re in the sport, you’re in. You need to be committed to practising, improving your skill and getting better and better.

This is why it’s important to gauge whether or not your child loves racing and karting before starting to introduce the importance of hard work and dedication needed to succeed at the top level.

If they love Formula 1 and racing already, it shouldn’t be too much of a push to help them to stay focused on their goals, taking them to race tracks each weekend and sharing that experience with them.

And you never know, if they do succeed at the highest level, those fond memories of Mum and Dad at the race track with them, may become the driving force as to why they push themselves and keep on going.

But this isn’t a quick thing. It can take years to hone your skills and train. It may even mean seeing less of your family and friends and seeing more time on the track competing at competitions.

Not only that but it can be quite an expensive hobby for your child to have as it’s not a cheap sport to be in and the costs of becoming a racing driver can sometimes be a financial burden to climb the ranks!

Train The Body And Mind

First, it’s important to address the element of experiencing losses time and time again until finally, you become the one everyone is trying to beat.

But those losses, crashes and heart-stopping moments are not for the faint-hearted. It’s important to develop a strong body and mind in order to succeed.

Furthermore, most drivers are in their top, peak physical condition and whilst on the karting tracks, health isn’t as important as the ranks of the F1, those little focuses on diet, exercise and more could prove to give your child the advantage of being quicker than others.

Reaction times too are important and thinking on the spot is crucial to be able to react quickly to the events unfolding on the track. Whether it’s the opportunity to overtake, reacting to a crash or being one step ahead of the competition, it can all go to who comes out on top!

Build Relationships With Teams And Sponsors

In order to get to the next level, parents, you may need to build relationships with other Mum’s and Dad’s on track, as well as other teams and sponsors. Even at the lowest level.

If your child is very serious about it and they’re good, then networking can help jump to the next level.

This is where it’s make or break as it can be quite expensive to fund the journey of a young racing driver, without the help of a sponsor!

But more often than not, the better your child is at racing, the more they are likely to be scouted with sponsors wanting to work with you.

Have Fun!

Being a race car driver is a lot of work and there’s so much time, money, effort and energy that goes into becoming an F1 driver that, you can forget why you started in the first place!

Even if you don’t make it to the F1 podium and your kids only having fun competing at karting level, it’s still important to have fun, racing your friends, teammates and enemies, whether that’s on a local karting track or under the bright lights of Silverstone!

Conclusion

Whilst this is more of a fun article on how to become an F1 driver, some of the tips we talked about can actually help you break onto the circuit of karting.

There should be no forcing or pressuring your child into becoming an F1 driver as it’s an extremely difficult sport to get into and stick with.

Ultimately what it comes down to is your child having fun, regardless of whether they’re driving against their friends in a local competition, or at the highest level.

Explore The Great Outdoors This Easter With Your FunBikes!

31 Mar 2021 09:25

Other than Christmas and your little one’s birthday, Easter is probably their 3rd favourite time of the year.

And what’s not to love? Giant chocolate eggs, a long weekend with Mum and Dad.

And the chance to ride around for 4 days on their favourite FunBikes vehicle without even having to go to school!

So it’s not hard to see why Easter rocks!

But with 4 days at your disposal, you have to make them count and that’s why in this weeks blog, we’ll take a look at the best places to take your electric and petrol FunBikes out for a spin.

We know it can be time-consuming choosing where to go, that’s why we wanted to make the decision for you, so you can spend less time deciding where to go and more time riding and enjoying all your FunBikes.

Electric

At FunBikes HQ, we’re lucky to be surrounded by Sherwood Forest and lots of wonderful country walks.

So it makes sense for us to take our kids to Sherwood Forest or Sherwood Pines for a ride around on the electric quad bike or mini dirt and pit bikes.

Now, strictly speaking, we wouldn’t advise you to take your full-sized dirt or pit bikes here, but if your little one has a mini moto, a mini quad or dirt/pit bike, which is electric. Then, personally, we can’t see any problem with that!

Just as long as you’re mindful of others, respect nature and promise to stay close to Mum and Dad, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t be allowed to ride around a country walk or forest near you.

Petrol

With the long weekend ahead of you, you’ll want to visit a dirt track for sure, to let your petrol quad bike or dirt/pit bike run loose!

Experience the fun with like-minded petrolheads who will more than likely be there for the same reason as you are, to have extreme fun!

Or if you have a large and secluded area of land at your disposal, so long as you’re mindful of others and nature, why not have the full area to yourself and ride around on your favourite FunBike.

Check Before You Go

Some of these places might have Easter egg hunts on the go, so it’s always best to call ahead and check that you’re allowed to ride around on an electric quad bike or motorbike.

But that’s mostly for electric.

If you’ve got a petrol quad or motorbike, you might even already have your favourite spot that you ride around time and time again.

Besides, if you’re going to a dirt track or a race track, more than likely, they’re expecting you to go there with a petrol vehicle. So in that case, there’s no need to call ahead.

Wherever you choose to go to have fun on your FunBikes, be sure to tag us on Instagram and you may get featured on our page. We look forward to seeing the snaps!

Happy Easter!

24 Mar 2021 09:59

A familiar friend in the quad bike range, the T-Max Roughrider is one of our most popular quad bikes amongst our customers and it’s easy to see why!

With so many features, a stylish and sleek design and plenty of hours spent having fun with friends and family, the T-Max Roughrider is almost the go-to for quad bikes amongst kids.

In this article, we’ll look at why the T-Max Roughrider is so popular with our customers and if you don’t have one, why you should think about getting one!

A Wide Range of Colours

First, the most easily recognisable feature of the T-Max Roughrider is the wide selection of colours to choose from!

Select your style, blue, pink, green and red to really match your little kids’ personality and to help them make a statement when they ride the bike!

Not only that, but consider the wow factor! If your little one loves the colour red but you get them a blue or a pink bike, they might not be as surprised and excited to ride it as if it were a red bike.

So Mums and Dads, remember, you’re shopping for them not you! But, if you wanted to have a sneaky peak at the adult quad bikes we have in stock, by all means, take a break and have a look for yourself here.

Petrol And Electric

If you’re wanting to take your kids to a dirt track so they can get the most out of their quad bike and tear it up with their friends, then a petrol quad bike might be the best bet!

Or if you’re thinking more for at home in the garden or to take on long walks with the family, then the electric model might suit you best as it’s much quieter than the petrol version.

But we like to give our customers the choice!

Great Value For Money

Whichever colour you choose to go for, whether it’s petrol or electric, the T-Max Roughrider is currently priced at £595! Believe us when we say, this is exceptional value for money and you’re getting a great deal.

Currently discounted from £695, you can save that £100 or spend it on safety clothing for your little one or spend the extra money on assembly.

Either way for all the features we discussed in this article including the Hydraulic rear brake, fully enclosed footwells, working headlights, twistgrip throttle, off-road tyres and more, you’re certainly getting value for money!

Revisiting The Funkart Pro!

19 Mar 2021 06:16

Last year we launched the brand new go-kart, Funkart Pro and it proved to be a success with our customers.

Now we’re revisiting the Funkart Pro as it’s one of our favourite products we have in stock and want to shed some light as to why and why we also think you should seriously consider getting one for your kids.

Hint, they are awesome!

Your Choice Between Petrol And Electric

Why only have the choice of one, when you can have two?

For smaller riders aged 6+, you may want to ride around your garden in a Funkart whilst not disturbing your neighbours, the electric Funkart Pro is quiet and allows for your kids to ride for hours without causing a fuss.

But if your kids are wanting to take their Funkart to a race track or a dirt track, you might find that the petrol version is what you’re looking for to feel the engine roaring behind you!

Either way, whichever model you choose, your kids will have lots of fun!

Ready To Ride

Funkart Pro’s come with a “Ready To Ride” status, with free assembly.

This means that we will assemble and test your Funkart before we dispatch it, to make sure everything is working as it should, so all you need to do is take it off the pallet, maybe charge it up or add petrol to the tank and start it up to ride!

But before you do, be sure that you’ve bought the correct safety gear before your kid's ride.

Fun, Safe And CE Approved

We know more than anyone the dangers of riding our products without responsibility.

Not wearing the correct safety equipment, riding reckless and being dangerous can all lead to accidents that could have otherwise been prevented.

We control as much of this as possible by giving the parents two speed settings, high (30km/h) and low (25km/h).

This means you can control how fast your kids go on the Funkart Pro to match their experience and confidence levels.

Not only that but the Funkart Pro is CE Approved, which means that it has been thoroughly tried and tested and meets EU safety, health and environmental protection requirements.

Get Yours Today!

We’ve got many Funkart Pros in stock and ready to buy.

You could buy today and ride tomorrow!

So take a look at the range online and get yours now.

Time To Get Your FunBikes Ready For Spring / Summer

10 Mar 2021 07:55

Spring and Summer are nearly here! And now is the time to start thinking about getting your FunBikes vehicles out, cleaned and raring to go!

In this quick, handy guide, we’ll walk you through the steps you should take to make sure everything is intact and ready to go.

Where To Begin?

The first thing you want to do is to go and pull the covers off your FunBikes and see what state they’re in.

Take it out of storage and move it onto the garden, take a good look around the vehicle and see if you can see any obvious issues right off the bat.

Does any oil need to be applied anywhere? Do any bolts need tightening? Do the tyres need pumping up?

If you have an electric vehicle then you probably want to test the battery and charge it up if it’s flat.

If you have a petrol motor, then you may need to go get some petrol to fill the tank up.

If you’ve recently charged the battery or put some petrol in the vehicle, then you’re ready to start it up to see if everything is in full working order, which, we would expect it to be.

Starting It Up

So you’ve charged the battery up or you’ve got a tank full of petrol. Now it’s time to start it up and give it a quick test ride. Just to see if the power, steering and brakes are all working as they should.

More than likely, everything will be working absolutely fine and as it should.

But It’s just always a good idea to spend a little extra time making sure that your kids quad bike, pit bike, dirt bike, buggy or any product is all ready to go!

Finish Up

This is only a quick-guide after all as there may be nothing wrong with your vehicle or it may have a few issues that (at this stage) we can’t advise on.

But one of the last things you’ll want to do is give your FunBikes a good wash down!

It’s always good to make sure that your vehicles are clean for your kids to jump on them and start riding!

Not only that, but it’s also good maintenance to keep the vehicle clean and looking its best!

And doing these regular maintenance checks and cleaning the vehicle after use (or before use if been put away for a long period of time) can help the longevity of the vehicle.

All that’s left is to plan a trip out with the family so your kids can enjoy their quad bike, pit bike, dirt bike, buggy or whichever vehicle they have!

Need Extra Help?

If you do encounter any issues with your vehicles, get in touch with us today!

Our support team are always on-hand to help answer any questions you may have and to best advise.

We can’t guarantee that we’ll know how to fix the problems you’re having, but we’ll certainly do our best to advise and help as much as we can.

Otherwise, get out there with the family and start enjoying the beautiful Spring and Summer weather!
